Birthday stash...
I wanted to show you my Birthday stash that I got as I am so delighted with it. The picture above shows a design I have wanted since it came out in Febrauary. It is the Designing Ladies 2006 Sewing Necessaire and my favourite one of them this is by Guilia Punti Antichi ('GPA'for short). I had couldn't believe it when I opened this as not only did I get the chart I also got all of the special silk threads and the called for linen fabric to do this design with!!! I was stunned to say the least but it did not stop there...this picture next shows the Hillside Samplings one that I had fell in love with...you guessed...I am now the proud owner of this kit including the handpainted box as well!!
Next is a book I had admired for its realistic looking flowers...it really is very beautiful and I like flowers so much :-)
Still my surprises kept happening as if this was not enough I also received these 5 new charts you can see. They were picked by my sister Su for me and are...Flowers From the Heart Needlebook, A Sentimental Thimble Case both by Cherished Stitches, Peek-a-Boo-Pin Cushion by Indigo Rose and then...two designs by Finger Work which are Shaker Box Pin Cushion with the threads and Mary's Pin Accessories!!!
As you will imagine I am over the moon with all my gifts and thank my family so much for all the spoiling they have done for me in making my day so special:-))) This picture below shows my Birthday Cake...I just loved it... the candle played Happy Birthday and the cake tasted really yummy!! Ooops sorry can't find the cake one in my photos mmmmm where has that gone I wonder??
As you can see I have changed my blog today and made it alot plainer for a change...it still looks a bit wierd to me. I'm getting myself geared up for the end of the summer as the sun has not shone here for a little while now but I am not quite ready to give up on it yet...lol...we might be in for a nice September before Autumn kicks in...here's hoping :-)) Next time I will show what I stitched and knitted (yes knitted) when on my holidays and if I can find the cake pic I'll show that!!
Enjoy your weekend!!

Hey! Welcome back Lena Lou! You have been spoilt indeed, and I can't wait to see what you do with all these treasures!
I have a question: I see you had waterlilies: is this silk? How many strands does it contain and do you you use it as you would use DMC threads or is it thinner or thicker? I am really wondering about these...
The stitchy gifts (with Elisabeth Design's full moon so beautifully stitched!) is simply stunning!
Take care!
Wow, what a great array of stitchy birthday gifts! You must be thrilled!
Happy birthday, too! :)
And your new blog look is pretty.
Hi Lena Lou! I have spotted the English mistake that has betrayed me! I'm French indeed! Well, that's no secret: it's in my profile, but many people finally ask me after a few weeks... meaning my English is not as fluent as I wish it were. lol!
Thank you for the explanations about the silks, they might be useful soon: I turned 38 last 31st, and I might buy new stash soon...
Take care!
What absolutely fabulous birthday gifts! Enjoy! Can't wait to see it stitched!

I love those silk thread you have bought. Where do you buy them from?
Just browsed your blog through a link from Meari's Musings and am sooooo jealous of the Flower Portraits in Cross Stitch Book you got as a gift. I just love TG's Gladiola pattern and hope to acquire it someday. Anyway, happy belated birthday and just love your blog!!
