Journey to the sea...

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image HostingI have just collected this picture from the framers today but I stitched it long ago in 2003... It was originally meant it to be a gift for a special friend from Cumbria ... mmmm...I guess I am keeping it now...lol...it is going to look very nice in my bathroom.

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image HostingIt is stitched this on 28ct lambswool linen , I could not get the stated fabric. I used mainly DMC threads as I didn't have many overdyed threads back then (still haven't). No.12 perle is used for the seagulls and the waves, if you look closely you will see the sea is actually the alphabet.

I might buy two sailboat buttons to attach to the bottom of the frame but I had a bit of trouble trying to get them before so I might not bother.

Pink, pink more pink...

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingI have stitched this years ago from an old pattern that I have lost the cover from so I don't know who it is by.....I thought it would be nice as a card as it is so simple but pretty. I have found it is always good to have a few things stitched at the ready ;-) as you never know...Looking at the photo and stitching now, I wish I had been a bit more careful with the wording. I remember I was feeling a bit rushed at the time and should really have done it seperately...as these little details do matter...I should probably take it out and re-do the wording.....hmmmmm...no, I'll leave it to remind me I have advanced ;-)
Have a good weekend...I am probably making 3 pairs of large curtains on Monday for my MIL...sewing of a different kind!
